summer fridays lip oil: buy or bye🌸
i say bye!! if you’ve tried them, let me know what you think in the comments!
as much as i love summer fridays, this is unfortunately an bye for me. there is almost no product in the tube, as the applicator takes up almost all the space. also, i feel like these are so similar to other products you can skip it. it’s good but just not $20+ good.
⭐️Overall rating: 3.4/5!
Okay, so after my initial thoughts on the Summer Fridays Lip Oil, I wanted to dive a little deeper into the actual experience of using it, especially since many of you are searching for honest reviews. Beyond the packaging and the applicator, which really bothered me, how did it feel on the lips? And is it truly a hydrating lip oil, or just an expensive gloss? When I did manage to get a decent amount of product out, the texture itself was quite pleasant. It’s not overly thick or sticky like some traditional glosses, leaning more towards a comfortable gel-oil hybrid. It glides on smoothly and instantly gives a beautiful, juicy sheen that makes your lips look fuller and healthier. I picked up one of the more sheer shades, and it added just a hint of color, perfect for an everyday, natural look. However, as a lip *oil*, my expectations for hydration were pretty high. While it felt comfortable initially, I didn't find it to be particularly long-lasting in terms of moisture. It provided a nice temporary plump and shine, but I found myself needing to reapply quite frequently throughout the day, often much sooner than with other lip treatments I rely on. For quick touch-ups or layering over a matte lipstick to add a glossy finish, it works well. But if you’re looking for something that will genuinely keep your lips hydrated and soft for hours, I felt it fell a bit short. It felt more like a cosmetic gloss than a nourishing treatment in the long run. Mine had a very subtle, almost sweet vanilla or pastry-like scent, which was quite pleasant and not overpowering at all. No strong artificial taste, which is definitely a plus in my book. The aesthetic of the product is undeniably chic; the sleek tube looks great, and the shade range is curated beautifully. But beauty is only skin deep, right? Now, let's circle back to the packaging and what you actually get for your money. The beauty product boxes clearly state a *4.5 ml volume*. But, my personal experience was that the oversized applicator, while soft, just takes up so much space inside the tube. It genuinely felt like there was barely any product in there, making it difficult to get a good amount out without constantly scraping the sides, even when it was relatively new. For a product priced over $20, that feeling of not getting your money's worth is a huge deterrent and definitely makes you question if it's a 'buy' or a 'bye' for your hard-earned cash. It's a common complaint I've seen, and unfortunately, I agree. If you're still on the hunt for a fantastic lip oil experience without the Summer Fridays price tag or packaging frustrations, I have a few recommendations. The Dior Lip Glow Oil is a splurge but offers a truly luxurious feel and excellent hydration. For more budget-friendly options that deliver on shine and comfort, I've been really impressed with the NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip and the e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil. Both give that juicy, glossy effect and often provide better long-lasting hydration, truly delivering on the 'oil' aspect. They are great alternatives if you're like me and felt a bit underwhelmed by the Summer Fridays offering. So, while it’s a 'bye' for me personally, I can see why some might still be drawn to it. If you're a dedicated Summer Fridays fan and prioritize brand aesthetic or a very subtle, non-sticky gloss for shorter wear times, and the price isn't a major concern, then perhaps you'd enjoy it. But for someone seeking true value, ample product, and deep hydration from a lip oil, there are definitely more effective and satisfying options out there. Always trust your gut (and your wallet!) when it comes to these viral beauty buys.

BYE I HAVE ONE AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT
