If your painted DIY furniture is chipping, peeling, or showing horrible brush strokes, you are probably skipping the most important prep steps! Getting that flawless, factory smooth finish is actually super easy when you follow these rules: ✨ Prep is everything: Always scuff sand with 220-grit

DIY furniture doesn’t have to be hard to build to look expensive. We needed storage in our living room so I built this super easy sofa table. How do you think it turned out? Let me know if you want the plans in the comments!

I’m going to teach you how to revive an old cutting board! I have been putting this off for 3 years even though it’s incredibly easy to do. Here’s exactly how I did it (save this for when you do yours!): 1. scribble all over the board with a pencil, then sand with 80 grit, 120 and 150.

It’s so true 🤣 So am I a carpenter? It’s been almost 6 years of teaching myself how to woodwork and I’m so glad I became a stay at home mom because I definitely wouldn’t have found this any other way. Just goes to show it’s never too late to find what you’re passionate about!

The kitchen cabinets on our island have absolutely no organization. We’ve been keeping our tupperware in there (with a bunch of other stuff) and I can never find the matching lid. So I decided to build a rolling drawer with storage on the top and bottom so I can easily see what matches. Co

if you’re just starting out, walking down the tool aisle at the hardware store could be incredibly intimidating (and expensive). But here is the honest truth. You only need a few basic tools to build 90% of beginner projects. Start small. Master the basics. Let your skills dictate when it’s time

Everyone said tiling is messy and takes forever. Instead I used Musselbound adhesive mats, so I can just stick it on and grout in the same day. There was a lot less mess than with mortar and it’s holding up amazing! Have you tried this stuff yet? let me know in the comments! #DIYfir

Everyone measure perfectly, cut on the line, and then realize your board is too short? 😫 Welcome to Furniture Building 101: Episode 4. Here is the problem: Your saw blade isn't invisible. It has thickness (called "kerf"). Usually, that blade eats up about 1/8” of wood. So if you cut directly
