Two job Christmas parties and a bike ride 🥰
This weekend was fun, festive, and exactly what my heart needed ✨
I attended both of my job Christmas parties and was reminded that even in the helping field—where the work can be mentally, physically, and spiritually heavy—we are not alone. Seeing fellow counselors who show up all year with purpose and compassion was truly inspiring.
I also joined an ugly sweater bike ride with my local cycling group, went solo, and left feeling connected. Community matters more than we realize.
I hadn’t been in the holiday spirit and was carrying grief and heaviness, but God knew exactly what I needed. This weekend is one for the books—grateful and blessed, even when I don’t feel like it 🤍

The holiday season often brings a mix of emotions, and finding moments of joy and connection can be truly healing. Attending multiple work Christmas parties, especially in challenging fields like counseling, highlights the importance of community support. These gatherings provide a unique opportunity to celebrate shared dedication and compassion, reminding us that we’re not alone in our struggles. Participating in themed activities like an ugly sweater bike ride adds a fun and lighthearted touch to holiday traditions. Such events encourage people to come together, even when going solo, fostering a sense of belonging and shared joy. Cycling groups often embrace the spirit of the season, making exercise social and festive with creative themes and costumes. For those carrying grief or emotional heaviness during the holidays, these communities can offer unexpected comfort and peace. The simple act of showing up and connecting with others who understand your journey can be a profound reminder of resilience and hope. Dressing up in festive attire — from a red dress at a formal party to a whimsical Grinch onesie on a bike ride — can also boost holiday spirit, allowing personal expression and fun to fill the season. Whether through professional celebrations or local activities, engaging with others supports mental and spiritual wellbeing. Ultimately, moments like these affirm the power of connection, kindness, and gratitude, showing that even amidst challenges, the holiday season can be a time of blessing and renewal. Sharing your experiences and joining community events can enrich your holidays and reinforce the meaningful bonds that carry you through the year.
