Building My Relationship With Food🫶🏼

United States
2025/1/26 Edited to

... Read moreIt's truly incredible how much our relationship with food can evolve, isn't it? Just like I mentioned in my post, moving from a place where crackers were a main meal to embracing nutrient-dense whole foods has been a game-changer for my body and mind. This journey isn't just about what's on your plate; it's about shifting your mindset and finding joy in nourishing yourself. For anyone out there feeling stuck, remember that small, consistent steps lead to lasting change. I started by focusing on adding, not just restricting. Instead of thinking "I can't eat X," I'd think "How can I add more protein, healthy fats, or fiber to my meal?" That's how my mornings transformed from skipping breakfast to enjoying a satisfying cottage cheese bowl with honey, blueberries, protein granola, chia seeds, and flax meal, or a delicious avocado toast with an over-easy egg. These additions made my meals more balanced and kept me fuller longer. One of my go-to's for a quick, healthy boost has been Trader Joe's Organic Beef Jerky. Seriously, if you haven't tried it, it's a lifesaver for those busy days or when you need a protein hit without a lot of fuss. I love it because it's high in protein and surprisingly low in fat, making it perfect for sustaining my energy between meals. It’s a great example of finding convenient, whole-food options even when life gets hectic. Beyond jerky, Trader Joe's has so many hidden gems for healthy eating – from pre-chopped veggies to their frozen fruit selection, making healthy choices a bit easier. Beyond snacks, integrating whole foods into every meal has been key. For instance, my dinner often features ground chicken tacos on corn tortillas, piled high with fresh onions, tomatoes, avocado, and lettuce, all topped off with a dollop of creamy Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. It’s flavorful, satisfying, and packed with nutrients. And let's not forget starting the day right! My routine often includes a warm ginger lemon tea with collagen and a dash of cinnamon. These small rituals contribute to a feeling of self-care and set a positive tone for the day. Building a healthy relationship with food is deeply personal. It means listening to your body, recognizing true hunger cues, and finding pleasure in eating. It's about progress, not perfection. There will be days when you feel like you've taken a step back, but the important thing is to keep showing up for yourself, one nutritious meal at a time. Embrace the journey, celebrate the small victories, and remember that every choice you make is building a stronger, healthier you.
