Haines, a charming town nestled between mountains, is renowned for its natural beauty. Visitors can witness the largest congregation of bald eagles in the world at the Chilkat Eagle Preserve, offering both hiking and fishing opportunities. Similarly, Kobuk Valley National Park, famous for its majestic sand dunes, provides a surreal landscape and the chance to view caribou migrating through the park. Lastly, Girdwood, located just south of Anchorage, is an outdoor oasis. With year-round activities including skiing and hiking, visitors can immerse themselves in the breathtaking scenery of the Chugach Mountains. Oregon Welcomes You! Opal Lake: This has been a fav spot of mine since I was little. This lake is perfect for canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming! From the Portland Metro Area, it’s about a 40 minute drive and about a 2 hour long hike. Make sure your dressed properly for wether conditions.
