Gladiolus ✨

Gladiolus, often called Sword Lily, is a striking flower known for its tall, colorful spikes and trumpet-shaped blossoms. Having grown them in my garden for several seasons, I can attest to their ability to add a vibrant splash of color that lasts well into late summer. One of the things I love most about Gladiolus is the diversity of colors available—from soft pastels to bold reds and pinks—which makes them versatile for various garden themes. Planting Gladiolus bulbs in well-drained soil with good sun exposure ensures they thrive, blooming beautifully from July to September. I typically space the bulbs about six inches apart and provide a bit of support to prevent the tall stems from bending in wind. Moreover, these flowers are fantastic for cut arrangements; they can brighten up any indoor space with their elegant shape and vivid hue. In addition to their beauty, Gladiolus are relatively easy to care for. Just regular watering during dry spells and removing spent blooms can encourage more prolific flowering.
