What version are you dealing with?

Nevada
4/20 Edited to

... Read moreIn my personal experience, recognizing the version of someone you’re dealing with is essential for maintaining emotional health. Early on, I used to hold onto people who showed me only their best side temporarily, which ultimately led to repeated disappointment because they couldn’t sustain that behavior. I've learned that unhealed people often love differently—they may show affection but lack the consistency and accountability needed for a healthy relationship. One practical tip is to observe actions over time rather than relying on promises or occasional improvements. Growth isn’t linear but consistency in effort and owning mistakes speaks volumes. Emotional maturity also plays a huge role; those who are truly evolved don’t shy away from tough conversations or accountability. Protecting your peace means setting boundaries with those stuck in toxic cycles or who pretend to be healed just long enough to re-enter your life. It’s okay to walk away from versions of people that don’t support your growth. Focus on healing relationships where both parties are committed to growth and consistency—these are the relationships that truly nurture and sustain us.
