JUST YOU WAIT when you take your kids on a walk and look down and see their beautiful little faces just soaking in God’s creation wanting to stop and feel plants, admiring tiny details that you usually just rush by, your heart will be so full you won’t even know how to contain it bc motherhood is just such a gift!!
p.s. Belle did in fact absolutely rock her tutu our entire walk
Taking walks with children can completely transform your perspective on the world. As a mother, I’ve found that slowing down to notice the intricate details of nature with my kids—like the texture of leaves or the tiny flowers hidden beneath the grass—makes the experience so much richer and more meaningful. Instead of rushing through our surroundings, pausing to appreciate them together creates a shared sense of wonder and joy. One of my favorite parts of these outings is seeing the world through my child’s curious eyes. Their eagerness to touch plants or marvel at small insects reminds me to be present and appreciative of life’s little miracles. It’s during these moments that I truly feel the gift of motherhood, embracing the fullness of my heart as I watch them soak in the beauty around us. Also, dressing up—like my daughter Belle in her tutu during our walk—adds an element of fun and personality to these simple adventures. It’s a reminder that you can incorporate little sparks of joy and creativity into everyday routines, making memories even more special. Incorporating nature and mindful observation into family time has brought me so much peace and gratitude. For any mother or parent, I highly recommend letting go of the hurry and embracing these meaningful pauses. Not only is it nurturing for your children’s growth and curiosity, but it enriches your own experience as a caregiver, filling your days with love and wonder.
