I found myself agonizing over some of the dialogue options, knowing that my words could change alliances or lead to unexpected outcomes down the line. It's not just about solving the mystery; it's about navigating the fragile social order of Fables living in exile, trying to blend in with the mundane world while their true forms and histories simmer beneath the surface. The characters are incredibly well-written. Bigby himself is a fascinating protagonist – a reformed monster struggling with his past, yet still capable of immense brutality. His dynamic with Snow White, a pragmatic and intelligent leader, provides a great contrast. Even the minor characters, like Bufkin or Toad, feel fully realized and contribute to the rich tapestry of this world. Each interaction reveals more about Fabletown's hidden society, its rules, and its desperate residents. Engaging with the detective elements was a blast. Piecing together clues, interrogating suspects, and exploring crime scenes felt genuinely immersive. The game doesn't hold your hand, allowing you to deduce connections and form your own theories. It encourages you to think critically and pay attention to every detail, which is something I really appreciate in a story-driven game.
