Reading "All Boys Aren't Blue" felt transformative; it blends memoir and manifesto to confront systemic challenges while expressing pride. Additionally, historical accounts like "Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert" remind us of the intersectionality between race, gender, and freedom struggles. These works confirm that Pride is not just a celebration but a call to honor sacrifices and ongoing fights for justice. Moreover, exploring the ballroom culture in Detroit through Marlon M. Bailey’s work gave me a vivid picture of how subcultures foster resilience and joy amidst adversity. The phrase "people be gay," noted from Quinta Brunson, captures the spirit of unapologetic self-expression that these stories share.
