However, some gut health habits tend to be forgotten but can make a meaningful difference. One habit I've found invaluable is mindful eating. Taking the time to chew food thoroughly and eating slowly helps reduce swallowed air and improves digestion. This simple practice can lower bloating and decrease acid reflux episodes because it prevents overeating and lessens stomach pressure. Another habit is paying attention to hydration, but not just in quantity. Drinking water consistently throughout the day, rather than large amounts during meals, supports digestion without diluting stomach acid needed for effective breakdown of food. Additionally, incorporating herbal teas like chamomile or ginger can soothe the gut lining, promoting gut healing and reducing reflux discomfort. Cultivating a daily routine that includes these habits alongside balanced nutrition and stress management creates a supportive environment for gut healing. In my experience, addressing these often neglected habits contributed to noticeable relief from reflux and bloating, improving overall comfort and digestive function.
