Living in a house full of AuDHDers isn’t easy

Showing my ridiculously messy game cabinet was not on my bingo card for 2024… but if it makes even one less person feel alone, I’m here for it.

We are pretty good at keeping our common spaces picked up. They can still get kind of messy, we still have clutter and hard days. But when it comes to cabinets, drawers, other common storage spaces, we are a total wreck.

I have yet to find a system to keep us organized forever… So if you have ideas, lay them on me.

... Read moreLiving in a household filled with AuDHD individuals can often feel like a wild adventure. Juggling varying needs, personalities, and emotional cues becomes a daily task. It's important to recognize that while an organized environment can foster a sense of calm, it can also be difficult to maintain. Research shows that many neurodivergent families face similar organizational challenges, especially in shared spaces. Techniques such as visual schedules, decluttering sessions, and open communication can make a significant difference. In addition, involving family members in establishing an organization system ensures that everyone's needs and preferences are honored, making the process more inclusive. Engaging with online communities dedicated to neurodivergence can also provide valuable insights and support. So, if you’re struggling with the messy reality of AuDHD living, remember, it’s not just you—many others are navigating the same waters. Let’s connect and share strategies that work, creating a more harmonious home environment together.

Why I Actually Love Living in a Smaller Home 🏠
It feels like everyone online is chasing the dream of a giant house - but for me, living in a smaller home has been so much better for my lifestyle, budget, and peace of mind. For context: our home isn’t tiny, but it’s not huge either. 3 beds, 2 baths, and around 1,244 sq ft. Just the right size

Things that actually help with AuDHD burnout (from an AuDHD therapist)
AuDHD burnout isn’t just being tired. It’s a full-system depletion that affects energy, emotions, sensory tolerance, and executive functioning all at once. And for many women, it builds slowly over months of pushing through, masking, and managing more than your nervous system was designed to hold.

TIME BLINDNESS (AuDHD Edition)
We don’t lose time, time loses us. For AuDHD minds, time isn’t linear it’s emotional. It speeds up, slows down, disappears, or overwhelms. It’s not mismanagement — it’s a nervous system translation issue. When the world tells us to “just be on time,” it misses the truth: our sense of time
