Surviving long haul flights with POTS
Okay so I didn’t really EAT the Buoy drops… but I did add them to most of my drinks 😂
This was the best flight I have ever had - I think the combination of tons of water, salty food, Buoy and compression socks was the dream team I never knew I needed.
Living with POTS as well as an autoimmune condition can make it really hard to travel sometimes… but I feel really lucky to have found at least some solutions.

Traveling with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) can be challenging, especially during long flights. It's vital to prioritize hydration; consider bringing electrolyte-enhanced drinks like Buoy drops to maintain your fluid balance. Salty snacks can help minimize blood pooling, while wearing compression socks promotes circulation during your journey. Don't forget to keep moving; simple leg exercises or standing up every hour can also alleviate symptoms. Additionally, planning your meals can be crucial. Opt for low-carb foods to avoid blood sugar spikes and potential fatigue. Keep in mind that every traveler's experience with POTS is unique, so it may take some time to determine which strategies work best for you.
