Meal Prep With Me
Meal prep for my 9 month old! I like to prep a few things to have on hand for the week to make our meal times easier & it’s a way for me to be intentional about introducing new foods, flavors and textures.#mealsforbaby #mealideasforbusymoms #baby
Meal prepping for a 9-month-old baby can truly transform your weekly routine. From personal experience, I’ve found that dedicating time once or twice a week to prepare meals allows me to focus more on quality time with my little one rather than scrambling during mealtime. When prepping, I like to blend different purees and introduce a variety of textures—like mashed veggies mixed with soft grains or small soft chunks of cooked fruits—to encourage my baby’s palate development and adapt to their growing chewing skills. In addition to nutritional balance, planning meals ahead helps reduce stress for busy moms like me. I use clear containers labeled by day, so each meal is ready to go, making it easier to stay consistent with introducing new foods. This intentional approach also means I can monitor how my baby reacts to different ingredients and adjust accordingly. Based on what I've learned, it's helpful to keep versatile staples like cooked sweet potatoes, rice, and steamed vegetables on hand. Adding mild spices, such as cinnamon or a pinch of turmeric, has been a gentle way to familiarize my baby with diverse flavors without overwhelming their sensitive taste buds. Importantly, I always ensure to check for any allergies when introducing new foods. Zap-freezing pre-portioned meal packs not only preserves freshness but also saves time, allowing you to thaw just what you need. This strategy eliminates waste and ensures your 9-month-old enjoys varied, wholesome meals throughout the week. Meal prep is a fantastic way to be intentional about your baby's diet, making mealtime less hectic and more enjoyable for the whole family.
