... Read moreHey fellow Nugget parents! I know we're always looking for fresh ways to keep the little ones engaged, and the Nugget Couch is truly a magical tool for imaginative play. I wanted to share some of my go-to builds that are always a hit in our house, especially for those times when you need a new spark for playtime. These are designed to be practical, fun, and easy to set up! The Ultimate Nugget Fort Extravaganza Every kid loves a fort, and the Nugget makes it so easy to create epic ones! For a classic fort, I usually start by unfolding one base cushion flat on the floor. Then, I use the other base cushion to create an A-frame by propping it up with the two wedge cushions. This creates a sturdy entrance and main structure. The square cushions can then be used to wall off sides or create smaller rooms within the fort. We often throw a light blanket over the top to make it extra cozy and dark inside, perfect for reading with a flashlight or telling stories. My kids love transforming it into a secret hideout or a spaceship! It's amazing how a few cushions can become anything they imagine, from a simple fort to a grand play castle. Creating a Cozy Nugget Reading Nook Sometimes, you just need a quiet corner for your little one to relax with a book. The Nugget Couch is perfect for this! To make a simple reading nook, I typically fold one base cushion in half to create a comfortable, elevated seat. The two wedge cushions can then be placed behind it to form a supportive backrest. If you have extra throw pillows, toss them in for added comfort. We often position this against a wall or in a quiet corner of the playroom. It’s an inviting space where they can curl up with their favorite stories, away from the hustle and bustle of active play. It quickly becomes their special little spot. Three More Fun & Easy Nugget Builds to Try! Beyond forts and reading nooks, the Nugget offers endless possibilities. Here are a few more builds my family enjoys: The Adventure Tunnel/Play Castle: Using the two base cushions, you can create an exciting crawl tunnel. Stand one base cushion on its long edge, then lean the other base cushion against it to form a triangular tunnel. The wedge cushions can be used as supports at the ends to keep it stable. My kids love crawling through this, pretending it's a secret passage or part of a grand play castle. It’s great for getting some wiggles out on a rainy day! The Dynamic Bridge/Ramp: This build is fantastic for gross motor skills! Lay one base cushion flat. Then, use the wedge cushions to create an incline leading up to the second base cushion, which can be propped up slightly to create a bridge-like structure. Kids can crawl or walk across it, balancing and testing their coordination. It’s like having their own mini obstacle course right in the living room. The Relaxing Lounge Chair: For older kids (or even adults!), you can fashion a surprisingly comfortable lounge chair. Fold one base cushion into a square, then lean the other base cushion against it for the backrest. Use the wedge cushions for armrests or additional back support. It's perfect for watching a movie or just chilling out after a busy day of play, offering a cozy spot that's not their bed or the main sofa. These are just a few ideas to get your imagination flowing! The best part about the Nugget Couch is its versatility. Don't be afraid to experiment and let your kids lead the way; their creativity is truly inspiring. Happy building!
