This is from my paraphrased Living Bible. (TLB)
Published in 1971, by Kenneth N. Taylor, Tyndale House Publishers.
It is a personal paraphrase (thought-for-thought), it converts the meaning in a more modern language to make it more understandable for the reader.
The base text comes from the ASV (American Standard Version ) 1901.
This was the first readable Bible I started with when I very young and wanted to read God’s Word. I highly recommend it for young readers and those who are not experienced readers. You can easily compare it to whichever Bible translation that you hold as your “holy grail” and see that is conveys the same meaning, just worded very simply.
A lot of readers jump into KJV and give up reading the Bible because it is so overwhelming for some and you’re literally having to look up every word for its meaning. And it can make you feel like you’ll never be able to be close to God if you can’t understand His Word.
It’s very close to the NLT in my opinion.
So I recommend a Living Bible or New Living Translation for easy understandability. Hope this helps.
