Handspun Yarn 🧶
I've been completely obsessed with making yarn lately, especially because my mother (who has all the skill in crochet & knitting that I totally lack) promised to make me a hat. It'll be my first ever project made ENTIRELY from yarn I made myself, and I'm so excited about it!
I've made about 3/4 of the yarn needed, and the hat is on its way 🥰

Handspun yarn has gained popularity among crafters for its uniqueness and creative possibilities. Unlike store-bought yarn, handspun yarn reflects the maker’s personal touch and can be customized in terms of texture, color, and thickness. Many enthusiasts start by learning on a drop spindle, which is a great tool for beginners to practice their spinning skills. Various online communities, such as #yarnspirations and #handspunyarn on platforms like Lemon8, provide support and inspiration for new and experienced crafters alike. Beyond hats, handspun yarn can be used for a variety of projects including scarves, blankets, and more. As you embark on your yarn-making journey, consider exploring different fiber types like wool, alpaca, or cotton to enhance your crafting experience. The satisfaction of creating handmade items is incredibly rewarding, offering not just a sense of accomplishment but also a deeper connection to the crafts you engage in. Embrace the process and enjoy every twist and turn of your handspinning adventure!
