Make Cleaning Easy
Here are just a few little tips for making cleaning a little bit easier and to make your house smell better.
1. Carpet and upholstery cleaner: it doesn’t have to be expensive it can be something as simple as the extra strength arm and hammer cleaner from Walmart. Or if you wanna be extra fancy, you can use baking soda and put a couple drops of your favorite essential oil in there in sift it over carpet, couches, your bed, etc and wait 15 minutes or so, and then sweep it up. Plain baking soda is just fine. 🙂
2. Sweep and dust on a regular basis. I don’t mean every day it could be every other day or maybe even once a week however you decide. It definitely keeps a lot of stuff from building up and being blown around. I like to use a disinfectant spray after I dust as well.
Note: Don’t forget to wipe down your cleaning products as well! Once a month, I take my steam mop and vacuum cleaner, and I wipe them off so they’re not dusty and dirty.
4. Wash your garbage cans. I know it sounds crazy, but garbage goes out often. Bags, leak, and rip… Don’t be afraid to take that to the laundry tub or the bathtub and wash it out with some dawn or mopping solution. It will also make the trash smell a little better. You can even get those little toilet stickies to drop in the bottom of your garbage can or the lid. 🙂
5. Candles and air fresheners. They might be overwhelming, but there are so many options out there arranging from candles to essential oils, literally anything you can name. I have an automatic air freshener for every room and the refills are very cheap at Walmart or Amazon and there are so many different scents. Just another way to keep the house smelling good.
6. Cleaning walls, doors and baseboards. If you’re somebody who likes to clean the walls and stuff, don’t be afraid to put a little laundry soap in there. Using dryer sheets also on the baseboard does help with dust buildup, but be careful laundry detergent and stuff is very flammable so you need to dilute it. ZEP wall cleaner is the bomb.
7. Keep that bathroom clean!! Keeping your bathroom clean will definitely make your house smell better. You definitely don’t need any of those odors floating around anywhere scrub the toilet and scrub the tub and get that soap scum off of there. Flushing the toilet though, with the seat down does help with splatter by the way.
8. Wash the bedsheets once or twice a week. All of the oils and dead skin cells that build up there… doing it on a weekend so you can relax or on a Sunday for a fresh week.
9. Rust on your microwave/appliances? If you have stainless steel that happens to rust or have the appearance of it, you can take foil to it and rub it over it.
10. Having pets. Pets can be overwhelming sometimes maybe you noticed that you have an odor when you have your dogs and cats maybe even ferrets with any pet. You can get a kennel cleaner and use that in doing your floors. It is a solution that you have to dilute and it will definitely make your floor smell better. #cleaning #cleaningtips #makecleaningeasy
