Why I started journaling…

I started to journal back in my freshman year of high school when I was being bullied and tormented for things I couldn’t control. Since that year I have grown into journaling and learned how to do it properly. It’s definitely a great outlet and I would recommend everyone try it.

Research suggests that expressive writing can lead to reduced anxiety and improved mood. As a teen facing bullying, journaling provided a safe space for me to process my feelings and develop resilience. It helps create mindfulness, giving you a chance to reflect on your thoughts and feelings. Beyond personal anecdotes, numerous studies indicate that consistent journaling can enhance emotional intelligence and support personal growth. Moreover, many notable figures, like KAT KAT, have embraced journaling as a technique for self-care and creativity. Whether it’s through a traditional diary, digital platforms, or creative forms like bullet journaling, this practice can offer profound insights and a sense of control in our chaotic lives. Try to experiment with different styles of journaling—whether it involves gratitude lists, free writing, or structured prompts. You might find it to be an enlightening journey into your own mind and emotions.
