BOOK REVIEW: JUST FOR THE SUMMER

Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez ☀️🦩

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was SO good! It switches POV between the FMC & MMC, which is super interesting and gives a different insight into how the other is feeling. With the Spotify audiobook, they had separate narrators for the 2 main characters, Emma and Justin, which was also really cool!

I always love a good fake dating trope, and I thought the little quirks and special parts of each character made them feel more real and relatable. Both Emma and Justin each have separate things going on in their personal life, and we get to see how they develop around that, which is cool.

I definitely recommend!! This book is perfect for summer too. Comment your book recs below!

... Read moreHey bookworms! I’m still absolutely swooning over Abby Jimenez’s latest, “Just For The Summer.” If you're looking for that perfect summer escape, trust me, this is it. This book grabbed me from the start and didn't let go, proving once again why Abby Jimenez is a queen of contemporary romance. As someone who loves to multi-task, the audiobook version was a game-changer. The decision to have separate narrators for Emma and Justin’s POVs was absolutely brilliant. It truly brought their individual voices and emotions to life, making it incredibly easy to distinguish their perspectives and feel deeply connected to both characters. It felt like watching a movie unfold in my mind, especially during those pivotal moments where their feelings shift. If you're an audiobook fan, definitely go this route for a truly immersive experience! What truly made this book shine for me wasn't just the clever plot, but the incredible depth of Emma and Justin. Emma's story, particularly her connection to a rare genetic condition and her selfless approach to helping others, was incredibly moving and unique. Justin, on the other hand, carried his own burdens related to his family, and seeing him grapple with those was heartbreaking yet hopeful. The way they both navigated their personal challenges while simultaneously falling into this fake dating arrangement was so compelling. You genuinely root for them as they discover they are there for each other, building a genuine connection beyond their initial agreement. Their slow-burn romance was beautifully paced, allowing their relationship to feel earned and authentic, making every moment of their journey truly satisfying. I'm a total sucker for a good fake dating trope, and Abby Jimenez delivers it flawlessly here. It wasn't just a gimmick; it served a real purpose in their intertwined stories. Watching them pretend to be in love while slowly, genuinely falling for each other was pure joy. The witty banter, the stolen glances, the quiet moments of understanding – it all added up to a truly heartwarming romance that will leave you smiling. That vibrant book cover, featuring a colorful sunset beach scene, perfectly captures the essence of the story. The setting really transported me to sunny days and warm nights, making it the ideal companion for actual summer reading. Whether you grab the paperback for your beach bag or listen to the audiobook on a road trip, you're in for a treat. If you're a fan of Abby Jimenez’s other works, like 'The Friend Zone' series or even her standalone hits, you'll find her signature blend of humor, heart, and emotional depth here. While 'Just For The Summer' isn't part of a direct '3 book series,' it definitely has the same feel that makes her books so beloved. She has a way of writing characters with real struggles and making you feel every emotion alongside them. If you enjoyed the emotional resonance of a story like 'The Night We Met,' you'll likely appreciate the character-driven narrative here too. And speaking of atmosphere, the idea of a bookish playlist from the image collage got me thinking! A perfect playlist for 'Just For The Summer' would definitely include songs that evoke longing, new beginnings, and that feeling of finding home in an unexpected place. Think indie pop with a touch of folk, or perhaps some heartfelt acoustic tracks that capture the 'slow burn romance' aspect. Something like Taylor Swift's 'False God' or 'All Of The Girls You Loved Before' would fit the mood perfectly, adding to the romantic atmosphere. Overall, 'Just For The Summer' is a deeply affecting and utterly charming read that I wholeheartedly recommend. Prepare to fall in love with Emma and Justin!

So I’m currently reading “HIS SUMMER MASTERPIECE” and I’ve been waiting for this to drop since their last book, and while I love the plot and everything the story tends to fall flat in some parts so I rate this read a 7/10 . Still check it out by all means though it’s a okay read for sure . #summe
