August 2025 Concealed Carry Class
We had a total of 15 students in our concealed carry class this month which included 10 brand new students, two who needed to retake it because they either expired or didn’t get their previous paperwork turned in, one transfer from another state, and two 2-year refreshers.
This video only shows half of the group because we neglected to take a picture with the first qualification group.
Our students consisted of folks from all walks of life including private security, retired law enforcement, military veterans, and housewives with very little experience with firearms and/or the legal principles surrounding the use of force and self defense.
We’d like to again thank the Santa Claran Casino Security for their partnership for this class and the upcoming class to end off the year.
When are you going to train with us?
I've been contemplating taking a concealed carry class for a while now, and honestly, the thought of it was a bit daunting. But with everything happening around us, I realized taking responsibility for my own safety was paramount. When I started searching for a 'concealed carry class near me,' I was flooded with options, and it was hard to know where to begin. After some research and talking to friends, I finally found a fantastic program that really suited my needs. What I looked for was more than just a place to get a certificate. I wanted a comprehensive course that covered not just the legal aspects of carrying a firearm but also practical self-defense techniques and, crucially, a safe and supportive environment for learning. My class, which was perfectly timed for me (it happened to be in August 2025 - though classes run all year!), exceeded my expectations. One of the most surprising and enriching parts of the concealed carry class was the diversity of my fellow students. We had everyone from retired law enforcement officers refreshing their skills, to private security professionals, military veterans, and even several housewives, some of whom, like me, had very little prior experience with firearms. It was incredibly reassuring to see such a mix of backgrounds, proving that the desire for self-protection spans all walks of life. The instructors were phenomenal, patient, and made sure everyone, regardless of their starting skill level, felt comfortable and confident by the end. If you're also searching for a 'concealed carry class near me,' here are a few things I learned that might help you choose: Check Instructor Credentials: Look for certified, experienced instructors who prioritize safety and clear communication. Review the Curriculum: Does it cover state laws, use-of-force principles, firearm safety, marksmanship fundamentals, and practical scenarios? A good class goes beyond just ticking boxes for the permit. Read Testimonials/Reviews: Hearing from past students can give you a real sense of the class environment and effectiveness. Consider Class Size: Smaller classes can offer more personalized attention, which was a huge plus for me. Location and Schedule: Of course, finding one that fits your schedule and is conveniently located (hence the 'near me' search!) is key. Ensure they offer dates that work, like upcoming August 2025 sessions if you're planning ahead! Beyond just getting the permit, attending the concealed carry class gave me so much more. It wasn't just about learning to shoot; it was about understanding my rights, the immense responsibility that comes with carrying, and developing a heightened sense of situational awareness. I walked out feeling empowered, not just with a piece of paper, but with practical skills and a newfound confidence in my ability to protect myself and my loved ones. If you're on the fence, I truly encourage you to find a reputable concealed carry class near you and take that step towards greater personal safety. It's an investment in yourself that I truly believe is worthwhile.
