Made primarily from wheat flour, mung beans, onions, and vegetable oil, these biscuits deliver a balanced combination of savory and sweet flavors that reflect Penang's rich culinary heritage. I personally appreciate the freshness of these biscuits; they contain no artificial preservatives, so it's best to enjoy them within 10 days of purchase. Storing them in a cool and dry place helps retain their crispness and aroma. For those who can’t visit Penang in person, buying these biscuits online through platforms like Shopee is a convenient option. When ordering, consider checking for the authentic packaging from Chuan Peng Heang Sdn. Bhd. to ensure quality. Beyond just a tasty treat, Tambun biscuits make thoughtful gifts or souvenirs due to their cultural significance. Sharing these pastries with friends and family gives a taste of Penang’s traditional flavors. If you are exploring other variations, some local vendors offer Pandan Coconut Shred flavored biscuits, providing a fragrant twist that complements the classic mung bean filling. Trying out these biscuits during a visit to Penang’s local markets or specialty stores will enrich your food journey. Their recognizable round shape and flaky texture make them a memorable snack worth savoring again and again.
