day in my life as a college athlete!🫶✨
🎾🎾🎾
Hey everyone! So you saw a glimpse of my super busy day as a college athlete, right? It's definitely a juggling act, and trust me, it took some time to get into a rhythm. If you're thinking about becoming a college athlete, or just curious how we manage, I wanted to share a few extra tips and insights that really help me get through those jam-packed days. My biggest tip? Time Management is Key! I mean everything! Practice, classes, study blocks, even meal times. Those little pockets of time, like when I was doing homework before my match, become super precious. It's not always glamorous, but staying on top of assignments means I can focus on my game without stress. And yes, sometimes it means making quick decisions for food! On the day I shared, grabbing that strawberry pink lemonade and mac and cheese from McCallister's was a perfect example – quick, easy, and satisfying after a morning of prep. It's about finding those reliable spots and learning to eat on the go. Fueling Your Body (Smartly!): You saw I had a kind bar on the way back from our match and Mod Pizza for dinner. On busy match days, fueling right is crucial! It's not always perfect, and sometimes you just need to grab what's convenient and tasty. I learned that having go-to spots like Mod Pizza, where you can customize quickly, or keeping snacks like those kind bars handy, makes a huge difference. Hydrating with a San Pellegrino blood orange? Little treats that keep you going! It’s all about finding that balance between performance and practicality, especially when you're constantly moving from the court in my match outfit to class. The Mental Game & Recovery: Beyond the physical grind, the mental aspect of being an athlete is huge. After a tough match, it's easy to feel drained. Taking a moment, even if it's just a short walk with a friend to the cafeteria for some dessert and ice cream, helps me unwind. Those moments catching up over a slice of cake (even if my homemade pizza was 'ugly' before, haha!) are so important for recharging. It's not just about what you eat or how you train; it’s about giving your mind a break too. Making sure I have a good visor for sunny days and comfortable gear also helps me stay focused and comfortable during long practices. Team & Social Life: Being a college athlete isn't just about individual performance; it's about the team. My teammates and I spend so much time together, from practices to quick lunch runs. And meeting up with friends outside of the team, like I did later that evening, is equally important. It helps you stay grounded and remember there's life beyond the court. Those shared meals, even the quick ones, become mini team-building moments. So yes, my days are long and full, but incredibly rewarding. It's a journey of learning how to manage your time, fuel your body, and keep your spirits high. Every day brings a new challenge and a new victory, whether it's acing a serve or acing an exam. Hope this extra peek into my life helps you understand what makes it all worthwhile!
