As the God of Zeal, her original story on Amonkhet was so poignant, fiercely protecting her initiates even as the world fell apart around her. Seeing her return, perhaps still wielding that iconic spear and in her golden-armored, bird-headed form, really ties Aetherdrift back to the original plane. It makes me wonder if she's found a new purpose or if she's still fighting against the remnants of Nicol Bolas's influence. Her endurance truly speaks to the resilience of the Amonkhet spirit, and I'm eager to see how her character develops. But the real excitement for me comes from the introduction of Sab-Sunen and Ketramose. Sab-Sunen, described as a golden frog-like humanoid god, bringing life and water back to the River Luxa, sounds like a beacon of hope! This is a stark contrast to the desolate Amonkhet we once knew. The imagery of water splashing and a rainbow in the background from the art descriptions makes me think of renewal and cleansing. Could Sab-Sunen be a god of rebirth or healing, perhaps reversing some of the desertification? This new deity could represent a massive shift in Amonkhet's ecosystem. Then there’s Ketramose, the young god of breaking dawn, depicted as a large golden lion-headed humanoid god holding two swords in a desert landscape. This sounds incredibly powerful and symbolic. 'Breaking dawn' suggests new beginnings, but also the struggle to overcome darkness. Is he literally ushering in a new era, perhaps fighting off lingering threats? The twin swords imply a warrior aspect, much like Hazoret, but perhaps with a focus on clearing the way for a brighter future. I can totally imagine powerful Amonkhet art featuring him. The article mentions the Locust and Scarab God are still around in hiding – chills! Their presence always looms large over Amonkhet, representing decay and undeath. It makes me wonder if this 'Aetherdrift' is a true continuation or an alternate reality where some elements diverged. How do these new, benevolent gods like Sab-Sunen and Ketramose coexist or contend with the lingering malevolence of the elder gods, especially with Hazoret around? This naturally leads to the big question: what other gods might show up? The original Amonkhet pantheon included Kefnet (knowledge), Bontu (ambition), Oketra (solidarity), and Rhonas (strength). Given the theme of renewal, perhaps a new iteration of Kefnet or Oketra could emerge, guiding the surviving populace? Or maybe completely new deities that embody aspects of perseverance and new life.
