tips for a seamless college move out!🏫👩🏻🏫✨
With only 2 weeks left in the semester, it’s time to start prepping to move out of dorm rooms! Here’s some of my fav college MOVE OUT tips!
1. Pack items in bins and bags you already have in your dorm instead of buying boxes. I have lots of folding boxes I got during move in to keep my dorm organized, I just grab those bins and put them right into my car! I also have tons of tote bags and laundry bins that I fill up. No need for buying moving boxes! If you do need some extra bags, I recommend the big bags from ikea, they’re easy to carry and can be stored / reused!
2. Start moving out / packing early - the last thing I want to be doing during finals week is packing up my dorm room…. Sooo I start packing early. About 2-3 weeks before the semester is over I begin taking home decorations, unused school supplies, and anything that isn’t a necessity. I also make sure any trash gets thrown away and unwanted items are donated. That way I can use my last week at school to focus on studying!
3. Make a plan with your roommates - my roommates and I have shared decor and furniture so we coordinate who takes what home. Also, we are responsible for deep cleaning the dorm before moving out, so we made a plan to split chores!
4. Review any school policies - my dorm building had a closing meeting where our RA reviewed move out procedures, cleaning rules, etc. for move out! Make sure to go to your closing meeting if you have one and read over any policies to make sure you don’t get any fines.
5. Make your girlfriend carry all of your packed items, and store it in her car and take it home :)

Ive been gradually moving out my stuff, as I live about 50 mins away from the college. I bring stuff home that I wont use for the rest of the term (personal books, decorations, etc). If you have the ability to do this I highly recommend
