Frozen sweet treats!
Yesterday I prepared these chocolate dipped bananas and pineapple chunks so that we could have them as dessert tonight, they are easy to prepare and delicious to eat.
You will need bananas, pineapple chunks, coconut oil, sugarfree chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, unsweetened coconut, skewers or popsicle sticks and wax paper.
Prepare the banana and pineapple by slicing the banana in half and cutting the chunks of pineapple. Prepare your wax paper on a tray or plate and then add the skewer or popsicle stick inside the banana from the bottom. Next add your chocolate chips to the bowl with a small amount of coconut oil or your oil of choice. I just eyeballed the amount of chips and oil. Melt in microwave checking and stirring every few seconds until it’s a nice dippable texture.
Finally dip your fruits into the chocolate, roll the banana in the crushed peanuts and top the pineapples with unsweetened coconut flakes. Freeze for 24 hours and enjoy. #dessertideas #sugarfreechocolatechips #chocolatedipped #frozenfruits #frozentreat
Making frozen chocolate-dipped fruit treats at home is not only fun but also offers a healthier alternative to traditional desserts. When I first tried making chocolate-dipped bananas and pineapple chunks, I found that using sugar-free chocolate chips combined with a bit of coconut oil creates a smooth and perfect coating that hardens beautifully once frozen. One tip I discovered is to ensure your banana is fresh but firm enough to hold the skewer, and slicing it in half before inserting the stick makes dipping easier. For pineapples, cutting them into bite-sized chunks helps the chocolate and coconut flakes stick better. You can experiment with toppings beyond chopped peanuts and unsweetened coconut—consider crushed freeze-dried berries, toasted almonds, or even a pinch of sea salt to enhance flavors. What’s great about these frozen treats is their versatility and the ability to customize them to your dietary preferences, whether you're aiming for low sugar, dairy-free, or nut-free options. Additionally, freezing times can be adjusted slightly if you prefer a softer or firmer texture—usually 4 to 6 hours works well for a semi-frozen treat, while 24 hours ensures a solid, refreshing dessert. This recipe is especially wonderful for warm days when you want a quick, cooling dessert without added sugars and artificial ingredients. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to encourage kids or family members to enjoy fruit in an exciting way. Give it a try and savor the blend of sweet, crunchy, and creamy textures packed into each bite!
