Have You Asked God This?
God will guide you. #christianlemon8 #christianmotivation
Lately, I’ve found myself pondering a simple yet profound question: have I truly asked God for what I *need*, or just what I *want*? It's easy to get caught up in our own desires, chasing after what we think will make us happy. I know I've been there, feeling adrift and uncertain about the next step, wondering if I'm on the right path. That's when I stumbled upon a truly valuable prayer, one that has brought immense clarity to my life. It's not about dictating terms to God, but rather opening your heart and saying, “God, if I'm ever choosing the wrong things, if I'm ever chasing the wrong things, if I'm ever looking at things the wrong way in this life, please lead me away.” This extends to everything – associating myself with the wrong people, chasing the wrong goals, or even pursuing the wrong dreams. It’s a prayer of surrender, asking Him to gently redirect us. I used to think asking God for help meant presenting a clear shopping list of requests. While there's nothing wrong with bringing our specific needs to Him, this deeper prayer acknowledges our own fallibility. It's hard, I'll admit. It means being open to the possibility that what we think we desire most might actually be a distraction from something far greater. I’ve struggled with letting go of ideas I was so sure were 'meant to be.' But what I’ve learned is that God often has a plan for us that is different than the things we desire, and sometimes, it can be so much better and more important for our lives. When I ask God for patience, for example, I'm not just asking for the ability to wait. I'm asking for the strength to trust His timing, even when everything in me wants to rush ahead. It's about accepting that His breakthroughs happen on His schedule, not mine. Similarly, praying for a sign from God isn't always about a dramatic, undeniable event. Often, it's about paying attention to the subtle nudges, the inner peace, or even the doors that close, guiding us towards a different direction. Asking God for something you really want is a beautiful act of faith. But it’s crucial to couple it with that humble prayer of asking Him to lead you away if it's not aligned with His best for you. I've seen how removing something from my life that I thought I desperately needed, because God prompted me to, eventually opened the door to something I never even knew to ask for, something immeasurably better. He truly starts working in our life to take us to places beyond our wildest imaginings, if we just give Him the steering wheel. So, if you're like me, constantly seeking guidance or wondering how to ask God for help that truly matters, try this prayer. It’s about inviting Him to refine your path, to show you what’s truly valuable, and to lead you towards the life He has perfectly designed for you. It's a prayer that builds trust, fosters a deeper relationship, and ultimately, helps us navigate this life with divine wisdom.
