God’s Perfect Timing

It's so easy to say, 'I trust God's timing,' isn't it? But actually living that out, especially when things aren't going according to our plan, can feel incredibly difficult. I've been there, staring at my calendar, wondering why that prayer hasn't been answered, or why a door I desperately wanted opened remains shut. The truth is, sometimes our human impatience gets the better of us. We look at our lives and think, 'God, why are you moving so slow?' But as that powerful message reminds us, God is not moving slow. He is moving exactly on time. One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that God's timing is perfect because He sees the whole picture, not just our limited view. When we feel stuck, it’s often because God may be preparing us for something even greater, or He’s preparing the circumstances for us. Think about it: how many times have you looked back and realized that a delay or a closed door actually protected you or led you to a better path? For me, this realization brings such comfort. It means that even in the waiting, there's purpose. It’s not a punishment; it’s a process. Sometimes, we get caught up in our own timelines, our own expectations of how things should unfold. The OCR really hit home when it said, 'DON'T ALLOW YOUR OWN THOUGHTS TO TAKE YOU.' Our thoughts can become our biggest stumbling blocks to truly trust in the timing of God. When those doubts creep in, when anxiety about the future starts to build, I try to remind myself of who God is. He created you in His image! He sees you, He knows you, and He has a plan. He’s not going to suddenly abandon you after bringing you this far. So, practically speaking, how do we cultivate this trust? For me, it starts with surrendering my timeline. It’s about daily prayer, not just asking for what I want, but asking for strength to wait, and for wisdom to see His hand in the delays. It's about remembering that God will not just suddenly abandon you. He has a track record in my life of faithfulness, and I bet He does in yours too. Another thing that helps is focusing on what I can do now. If I'm waiting for a job, I can improve my skills. If I'm waiting for a relationship, I can focus on becoming the best version of myself. This isn't about rushing God, but about partnering with Him in the present moment. It's understanding that even if it feels like you are taking too long, it's not because God is against you or trying to punish you. It's because there's a divine orchestration at play that we can't always comprehend. Ultimately, trusting God’s perfect timing is a journey of faith. It’s a daily decision to believe that He is good, He is sovereign, and He has our best interests at heart. As a representation of a follower of Christ, we are called to embody this trust, even when it’s hard. It’s a powerful testimony to those around us that we serve a God who is always on time, always faithful, and whose plans are always perfect.
