Unfiltered and imperfectly perfect! 🫶
I just want to talk about something! All over the internet I have been seeing posts and videos about becoming “THAT GIRL” or “STEPS TO GLOW UP BEFORE 2025”… followed by all these beautiful and aesthetic pictures of what that should look like. Nobody talks about the other very real side of glowing up. The part that isn’t pretty with flawless make up, perfect body, hair and nails done, eyebrows arched, etc.
I want to talk about the fact that glowing up is not always cute nor pretty when you are pulling yourself out of depression or trauma. There are levels to this! What one persons glow up looks like should not be compared to another’s but all should be applauded. This part of my Glow Up journey isn’t cute! It’s about being consistent and putting in the work. It’s about having a morning and night routine, eating the right foods for my body, taking care of my skin and drinking all the water.
I’m not at the glitz and glam part of my journey yet. I’m like Rocky whenever he is training to whip ass after he got beat up in the first fight! I’m preparing for the win and right now that’s where my energy is at and it’s amazing. I love having more energy, completing a workout, seeing my body change every week, etc. It’s just not cute!
This part of the glow up journey is the most important! It’s what gets you to the end. It’s not always cute but it feels great! I feel like this needs to be seen and appreciated more.
