It got so bad I just made an app for it. Tidy cam!
Came back from Japan and didn’t want to go through all my photos… saw an app making you pay $9 weekly for tinder for photos. So I just made it for free. It’s on the App Store. Tidy cam!
I’d give it a 10/10

You know that feeling, right? You come back from an amazing trip, or even just a busy month, and your phone is bursting with thousands of photos and videos. My recent trip to Japan left me with over 10,000 media files, and the thought of scrolling through them all felt like a monumental task! That's exactly why I felt compelled to create a tidier app – something to truly help with the photo chaos. Before Tidy Cam, my camera roll was a nightmare. I’d spend hours trying to 'Tidy Up' manually, getting overwhelmed after just a few dozen pictures. I saw other apps out there, but seriously, paying $9 a week just to organize photos? That didn't sit right with me. I wanted a simple, effective, and free solution, not another subscription. And that's how Tidy Cam was born. What makes a 'tidier app' truly great? For me, it's about making the decision process easier. Tidy Cam focuses on helping you swiftly decide: 'Keep' or 'Delete'. It’s designed to be intuitive, just swipe! You can see your 'Kept' count and 'Deleted' count grow, giving you a real sense of progress. I specifically built in features to handle large volumes, whether it’s your 'All Media' collection or specific 'Videos' and 'Screenshots' albums. One of my favorite features, which I think truly embodies the 'tidier app' spirit, is the 'Random Sort'. When you have '13,192 photos' or even more, starting from the beginning can be daunting. The 'Random' option lets you tackle '50 photos' or '61 photos' at a time from anywhere in your library, making the task feel much less overwhelming. It's like a mini-challenge: 'Day one of sorting through my 10,000 videos and photos,' and suddenly, it's not so bad when you're just doing 50. Another game-changer is the 'Bookmark' feature. Instead of just keeping or deleting, sometimes you find a photo you want to hold onto for later review, maybe to edit, share, or just because it's extra special. The 'Bookmark' option allows you to flag those, creating a curated collection without cluttering your main feed. I personally use it for photos I want to turn into prints or add to a digital album. Using Tidy Cam has genuinely transformed my photo management. No more endless scrolling to find that one perfect shot from 'HUBERT PASSAGE' or 'BLVD'. My phone feels lighter, my memories are more accessible, and honestly, there's a huge sense of accomplishment when you see 'Random Sort Complete!' and know you've sorted through '50 random photos' or more. If you're struggling with photo clutter and looking for a genuinely helpful, free 'tidier app', I highly recommend giving Tidy Cam a try. It’s made a world of difference for me, and I bet it will for you too!
