Encourage Yourself, However You Need To
Encourage Yourself, However You Need To
I’ve been quiet in here lately because life has been heavy, and sometimes silence is part of the process. In this season, music has been one of my biggest lifelines.
For me, that often looks like gospel:
Encourage Yourself...speaking life over myself.
Walking in the Light ... choosing clarity and truth.
Better Days (Le’Andria Johnson)...reminding me the storm won’t last forever.
Deliver Me (Donald Lawrence) ... letting go of what no longer serves me.
Waymaker ... trusting there’s a way forward even when I can’t see it.
Another Day’s Journey ...grateful just to still be standing.
But I also find healing outside of gospel music and reading Proverbs:
My go to is thunderstorm sounds, lofi beats, binaural tones that calm my nervous system
I also tap into soul and secular songs that speak to resilience (India.Arie’s I Am Light, or Walk Through the Fire)
I use my home gym time, moving my body, sweating it out..also praising God out there in Temple too.
That’s my path. Yours may look completely different.
Some of you might find peace in poetry, nature walks, painting, meditation, or sitting in silence.
The point is this: encouragement isn’t one-size-fits-all. What matters is that you find what works, and lean into it when life feels heavy. Speak life over yourself in whatever language your soul understands.
You’re not powerless. You’re still here. And that’s worth encouraging yourself about today.
