Real talk and real support✨
It’s extremely hazardous to be such a people pleaser. You do so much for others that you neglect your own well-being and happiness. There’s a delicate balance to strike. While it’s important to be there for others, you shouldn’t compromise your own happiness. I encourage you to be blessed with the Holy Spirit, to stand strong and courageous, and to stay close to your truth and happiness. Don’t let others persuade you to do things that don’t bring you joy or fulfillment. It’s okay to be different and unique, and you shouldn’t let the insecurities of others or their influence hold you back from empowering yourself. If you don’t want to do something that doesn’t make you happy, that’s perfectly fine. I pray that you find peace, encouragement, and joy throughout your day, and that you seek God’s approval every day.
In a world where societal pressures often dictate our actions, it’s essential to recognize the toll that excessive people-pleasing can take on our mental and emotional well-being. Many individuals find themselves caught in the web of trying to gain approval from others, leading to feelings of inadequacy and unhappiness. This constant need for validation can create a pattern of behavior known as approval addiction, which can be challenging to break. Breaking this cycle begins with self-awareness. Acknowledge your feelings and recognize that it’s perfectly acceptable to decline requests or opinions that don’t align with your values or happiness. Setting boundaries is a crucial step towards empowering yourself. Make a commitment to yourself to prioritize your well-being without guilt or shame. Through introspection and prayer, seek the guidance and strength needed to navigate these challenges. Remember, changing long-held habits takes time and may initially cause discomfort. However, with faith and determination, you can emerge stronger and more authentic. Additionally, surrounding yourself with supportive and understanding individuals can facilitate this journey. Communication with loved ones about your intentions to prioritize your happiness can help them understand your new boundaries. It is also important to practice self-compassion. Treat yourself with kindness as you learn to navigate away from the habit of constant acquiescence. Finally, remind yourself that true fulfillment comes from being aligned with your authentic self, not from the fleeting approval of others. Celebrate your uniqueness, and allow yourself to express it freely without fear of judgment. Embrace the courage to live for yourself, and you will find peace in your decisions and a deeper connection with your true joy.

Standing your ground is important, but always rebelling against parents can shut you off from wisdom you only appreciate much later.
