chocolate covered strawberry cake

{I am aware that you can buy premade strawberry cake mix, however, this way taste much better. You can also use cherry flavored Jell-O mix to have a chocolate covered cherry cake}

1 yellow cake mix (any brand)

1 pack of strawberry jello (I use Simply Delish brand, but if consuming pork is not an issue for you Jello brand or groceries store brand is fine to use)

2 cans of Duncan Hines Creamy Dark Chocolate Fudge Frosting

in one large bowl combined your yellow cake mix with the strawberry Jell-O powder. then follow the instructions on the back of the cake box for mixing and baking.

I cook my cakes in two different cake pans so that I have a two layered cake. after icing the bottom layer of cake I add a layer of fresh strawberries, place the 2nd layer on top and ice the whole cake then top with strawberries for garnish. (the fresh strawberries is optional)

(if you do not consume the entire cake, it must be refrigerated or the strawberries will mold) #cakes #dessert #cookout
