From my experience, adding fresh oranges or a few drops of lemon juice to my smoothie not only improved the taste but also increased the iron absorption benefits. When making iron-boost smoothies, be mindful of ingredients that can inhibit iron absorption, such as calcium-rich dairy or high amounts of tannins found in tea.
