💔The Invisible Patient: What It Feels Like
That day, a direct pelvic injury left me screaming, shaking, and unable to move. Yet, in the Emergency Room, my pain was treated like an inconvenience.
The doctor's first comment? My weight, not the severe pain and instability in my body. Despite needing multiple doses of pain meds and having abnormal lab results, I was dismissed, mocked, and later, the official report was filled with false claims—saying I denied pain and refused treatment I simply couldn't physically tolerate.
I left feeling dehumanized and unsafe. This isn't just my story. This is the reality for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses every day in healthcare.
Compassion, attention, and respect aren’t optional. They are life-saving.

I’ve been there. I deal with pain everyday. Having doctors look at you like you’re crazy is a nightmare especially after you sit for 8 hours trying to get in to get help. Hope you are feeling better today. Mine is a daily fit that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
