Getting back into art after a break has been both challenging and rewarding for me. When I picked up my brushes again, I wanted to explore new styles beyond what I was familiar with as a child — namely watercolors and charcoal. Reproducing pieces from AB Mini Art on TikTok helped me practice my technique and regain confidence. What I appreciate the most about following along with another artist's concepts is how it pushed me to pay closer attention to details and colors, which has refined my skills significantly. One particular piece, the smoky forest with a path, was my first attempt at injecting my own creativity into the process. Adding that personal touch gave me a great sense of accomplishment and motivated me to eventually create original pieces. In the meantime, I've been using photos of landscapes I’ve taken myself as a reference, focusing on capturing moody atmospheres. This approach blends realism with the emotional tone I want to evoke through my artwork. From my experience, using platforms like TikTok to follow and learn from talented artists can be incredibly inspiring, especially when you're trying to regain or develop new artistic skills. It’s not just about copying; it’s about learning techniques and gradually letting your own style emerge. I encourage other artists recovering from a creative hiatus to try this method — it’s a wonderful way to build momentum and rediscover your passion for art.
