✨Morning Bible Reading Routine✨
Morning Bible Reading Routine as a mom of two and Pastor’s wife! So happy to have lemon 8 back🫶. #morningroutine #biblestudy #mom #pastorswife
You know those Sunday mornings? They can be a whirlwind, especially with little ones or a busy household. But for me, carving out time for Sunday morning scripture isn't just a habit, it's my anchor for the week ahead. It's about setting an intention, really connecting with God before the hustle begins. I used to struggle, thinking I needed hours, but I've learned that consistency beats quantity. My goal isn't to read a whole book of the Bible every Sunday, but to truly engage with what I read. This is where the idea of 'choosing today's study' comes in. Instead of just opening to a random page, sometimes I'll decide on a theme for the week, or follow a devotional plan that has specific Sunday readings. One thing that truly shifted my perspective was realizing it's not just about consuming words, but about surrendering my day and my week to God. The question, 'Will you surrender to God today?' really hit home for me. It's about saying, 'God, I'm here, I'm available.' This availability isn't just about showing up, it's about being open to how He might want to 'use you' and 'bless others through your capable hands' throughout the week. Even simple acts of kindness or patience with my kids can be a way to bless others. So, how do I make it happen? Preparation is Key: Sometimes I'll pick my scripture on Saturday night. Even having a bookmark ready helps. Find Your Quiet Micro-Moments: Maybe it's 15 minutes before anyone else wakes up, or during nap time. Don't wait for perfect silence; sometimes, my 'quiet' spot is just the corner of the couch with a cup of coffee. Focus, Don't Rush: I aim for a shorter passage that I can truly reflect on. I'll read it, then reread it, and ask myself, 'What is God trying to tell me here?' Pray it In: I always follow my reading with a simple prayer, asking for guidance and strength for the week, and to help me be 'available to God' in whatever capacity He calls me to. Journal a Thought: Even just one sentence or a key verse. It helps solidify the message and makes it personal. Sunday morning scripture isn't just about checking a box; it's about centering your heart for the week, receiving spiritual nourishment, and recommitting to living a life available for His purposes. It's a powerful way to start any week, reminding yourself of God's presence and guidance.
