🛫 Journey Above the Clouds
🛫: Crossing the International Date Line
When the plane reached an altitude of 10,000 meters, an endless sea of clouds spread out outside the window. The in-flight entertainment system also includes pre-recorded presentation videos from past CES (Consumer Electronics Show), raising expectations for the upcoming technology festival. After about 12 hours of flight, we crossed the International Date Line. Virtually half a day was taken away. The occasional view of Alaska s glaciers and snow-capped mountains through the window made us realize that we were steadily approaching the Americas.
🛬: 2026 - First landing in the Americas
After about 13 hours of flight, the plane finally landed at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. When the doors opened, the dry air and bright sunlight welcomed me. It was 2026, the moment I first set foot on the land of the Americas.
飛行機での長時間のフライトは、単なる移動というだけでなく、日常とは異なる特別な時間を体感できる瞬間です。私も高度1万メートルを越えた際に広がる厚い雲海を眺めながら、普段は感じられない広大な自然の存在を実感しました。特に印象的だったのは、機内エンターテインメントシステムで見られた過去のCES（コンシューマー・エレクトロニクス・ショー）の映像です。これからのテクノロジーの革新が体験できることに胸が高鳴り、旅の期待感がいっそう膨らみました。 日付変更線を越えることで、時間が半日分“失われる”感覚は、時差ボケとは別の不思議な体験でした。窓から見えたアラスカの氷河や雪山は、息をのむ美しさで、まさに大自然の壮大さを目の当たりにしました。私にとって、こうした光景を間近に見ることは初めての経験であり、旅の中で忘れられない思い出となっています。 また、ラスベガスに到着した瞬間の乾燥した空気と強い日差しも、日本との気候の違いを肌で感じられる貴重な体験でした。飛行機のドアを開けたときのあの新鮮な感覚は、まさに旅の醍醐味のひとつです。旅先での新しい文化や環境に触れながら、自分自身の視野や価値観も広がっていくのを感じることができました。 長いフライトや時差の調整は体には負担 がかかりますが、目的地に到着したときの達成感や感動は本当に格別です。雲海の上から見える世界の広がりや、新しい土地に踏み入れるときの高揚感を多くの方に体験してほしいと思います。
