Quitting Corporate 2 Years Later…💻💅🏼

Can’t believe I’m still alive after quitting corporate almost 2 years ago 😂

Some days, I still feel behind. It’s tempting to imagine life with a “stable” income. Honestly I miss the warmth of the office pantry and the occasional chats.

But whenever someone asks how I’m doing, it’s always “tired, but fulfilling :)” and NEVER “I hate my job.”

So if you’re scrolling, comparing yourself to everyone else’s 9–5, or questioning your choices… stop. Take a breath.

You deserve to celebrate carving your own path, in your own way, on your own timeline ❤️

From my experience, this shift often brings mixed emotions. Some days, I found myself questioning whether I was falling behind compared to colleagues still in traditional roles. It’s a normal feeling, but it’s important to remind yourself that different doesn’t mean wrong. One of the biggest realizations was understanding whose dream I was truly chasing. Was I pursuing my own aspirations or simply following expectations set by others? This introspection helped me realize the value of crafting a career path that aligns with my personal goals and values. Despite occasional nostalgia for the small comforts of office life—like casual chats or the warmth of the pantry—the fulfillment from autonomy and pursuing meaningful work far outweighed the uncertainty. I often describe my days as “tired, but fulfilling,” which highlights the different kind of satisfaction that comes from self-direction. For anyone contemplating or struggling with the transition out of corporate life, my advice is to stop the comparison game. Your journey is unique, and so is your timeline. Celebrate the courage it takes to carve out your own path and embrace the unconventional 9-5 rhythm. After all, success and happiness aren’t defined by a traditional schedule—they’re about finding joy and purpose in what you do.

my story of losing my job
