Thrilling! The boy riding through the rain was struck by lightning in the middle of the Rashvibha elevated bridge, seriously injured.
On June 2, 2026, at 3: 40 p.m., a lightning strike landed on the Rashvibha Elevated Bridge, Vibrant Road, resulting in one serious male injury. According to preliminary examination, the injured man was on a motorcycle, heading towards the Marines junction on the Elevated Bridge. Suddenly there was an unexpected incident. When the lightning struck the trunk while on the motorcycle, the impact caused the car to lose its foothold.
After the incident, Muanitapottang Rescue volunteers, along with a team of rescue vehicles from Chulabhaeng Hospital, rushed to investigate and provide urgent rescue, finding that the injured had traces of physical lightning wounds and were quite serious. The staff were rushed to Parasharabhadra Hospital for the most urgent medical treatment.
This event is considered a big warning example to road users, especially motorcyclists, during severe thunderstorms. Driving on high ground and in relief like an elevated bridge is at a higher risk of being the target of lightning more easily than normal areas. If it is found to be raining so hard that visibility is poor, or there is strong lightning thunder, it is best to slow down, find a strong and safe building roof shelter, and avoid staying in the open air to reduce the risk of possible unforeseen occurrences.
