I recently checked out the new Balloon Museum in Austin, and let me tell you, it's an absolute must-visit if you're looking for something truly unique and fun to do in ATX! From the moment you approach, the exterior grabs your attention with its colorful entrance path and an incredible inflatable monster perched on the roof, alongside a vibrant inflatable figure on the facade. It’s hard to miss and instantly sparks curiosity. Stepping inside, the museum is a wonderland of inflatable art, transforming the old Louis Shanks Furniture store into a playful and immersive experience. One of the first things that caught my eye was a gigantic blue inflatable sculpture with an orange stripe, snaking along the floor and up a wall, dotted with multiple quirky white inflatable eyeballs with black pupils. It’s both whimsical and a little surreal! Further in, prepare to be mesmerized by a room featuring a massive mirrored disco ball on a white circular platform. It casts countless square patterns of light across the ceiling, walls, and floor, creating an incredibly dynamic and photo-worthy environment. Another playful exhibit is filled with numerous white inflatable cube-like structures, some stacked high, others scattered, inviting you to wander through a soft, abstract landscape. The visual variety keeps you engaged around every corner. My personal favorite might have been the dimly lit room where a large, colorful butterfly sculpture made of illuminated light strips hangs gracefully from the ceiling. It’s a truly ethereal sight, perfect for relaxing on the red cushions below and just soaking in the ambiance. And for those who love a bit of playful interaction, there’s a dark room with a ceiling covered in dark spherical objects and a fantastic ball pit on the floor, illuminated by bright, circular lights. It’s not just for kids – adults were having a blast too! Finally, don't miss the striking exhibit with a clear inflatable sphere with black spikes in a white room adorned with black lines. It's minimalist yet impactful, offering another unique photo opportunity. To make the most of your visit to the Austin Balloon Museum, I recommend going on a weekday morning to avoid the biggest crowds. Wear comfortable shoes, and definitely bring your phone or camera because every corner is a photo op. Allow at least 1.5 to 2 hours to fully explore all the installations. It’s an imaginative and refreshing art experience that truly stands out among Austin's attractions.

The way this looks like pure main character energy, I already know I’d spend half the time taking pics and the other half just people watching.
