Marrakesh souk haul!! 🇲🇦

I came back from morocco recently so I thought I’d do a haul of what I bought there! I’ve included prices and locations down below too ⬇️

1. Moroccan argan oils, creams, musk perfume, soap & aker fassi (poppy petal lip & cheek stain)

📍Herboristerie Bendriss

I got a bunch of argan oils for topical use and cooking! I also got acne cream and musk perfume and some freebies bc my mom bought so much stuff 😭😭 the people working here are very knowledgeable and this herboristerie is 1/2 of the places that are certified in marrakech (?? iirc)

Highly recommend coming here to get high quality spices and other skincare products

2. Handmade customised leather bag and sandals

📍Leather Home, Marrakech

They didn’t have any bag designs i liked so they offered to customise one for me and send it to my hotel!! Only took them 2 days and the quality is insane for a reasonable price too! The bag was 1000MAD (around S$140/€93) and the slippers were 250MAD (ard $35/€23)

3. Cute coasters

You can find these basically anywhere in the souks! I got 6 for 100MAD (around S$2/€1.50) each

4. Silver bracelet

📍Yasmina Bijouterie

Real silver and handcrafted! The owner was so sweet

Got this beauty for 780MAD (ard $108/€72)

5. Ras El Hanout (a packet of 35 spices)

📍Herboristerie Bendriss

Used for cooking everything except fish, I got this for 50MAD (ard $7/€4.60). Same place where I got my oils and creams

6. Dates

I got these near the souk entrance but im pretty sure you can get dates from many shops in the Medina

I got these for 60MAD (ard €6/$8) per kilo

7. Leather belt

Okay.. did get ripped off for this because my mom did the talking and she can’t bargain for shit 😭😭but whatever it’s cute I guess - 200MAD ($28/€18.50)

8. Pashmina

Probably could’ve found this cheaper but i thought it was cute - 200MAD ($28/€18.50)

From my recent trip, I found that planning ahead and knowing where to shop made a huge difference in quality and price. One thing I learned is that Herboristerie Bendriss stands out as a must-visit place, especially for argan oil and skincare products. Their certified quality and knowledgeable staff ensure you get authentic, high-grade products. The argan oil I brought back wasn’t just for cooking but also wonderful as a skin moisturizer and hair treatment—many vendors in the souks sell mixed-quality oils, so trustable shops really matter. Custom leather items are another highlight. At Leather Home, I appreciated their offer to create a custom bag tailored to my taste, which was delivered promptly to my hotel. This kind of service and craftsmanship justifies the price, and it’s something you don’t always find in the crowded souks. When bargaining for leather goods like belts or sandals, it’s essential to have some handle on local price ranges and negotiation skills—my experience showed that even with a bit of a haggling mishap, you get treasures worth keeping. The spice blend Ras El Hanout is iconic in Moroccan cuisine and a fantastic souvenir. I found a 35-spice packet that’s perfect for recreating Moroccan flavors at home. Similarly, picking dates near the souk entrance or inside the Medina is a treat—sweet and fresh dates are everywhere but check for quality and price consistency. For small souvenirs like coasters and silver bracelets, buying from recommended shops such as Yasmina Bijouterie guarantees you’re getting genuine handcrafted items. Though the prices may seem higher than market stalls, the authenticity and seller trustworthiness add value. Lastly, shawls like pashminas are plentiful but vary widely in quality and price. Choosing a cute pashmina just because you love the design is part of the fun, even if cheaper options exist. Overall, my haul reflects not just my purchases but the rich culture and warm hospitality you experience in Marrakesh’s souks. Whether you’re into cosmetics, leather goods, spices, or jewelry, investing time in recommended shops and understanding the local market can enhance your shopping haul and bring home lasting memories.
