Happy Halloween!
This is my original character that I designed based heavily on black dandyism which you can see a lot of in the movie sinners! I also added a touch of Canary from Hunter x Hunter and Hex girls which you can see in the hair and the jewelry selection with the amethyst necklace and citrine ring! The waist blazer is inspired by the 1940s type of silhouette but is most likely from the 80s-early 2000s and is thrifted from Depop brand is Donna Ricco [was founded in 1984] the main blazer is another Depop find and it’s brand is Judith Hart a brand that has pieces dating back to the 70s! Pants are either from Marshall or Burlington but they still match the 80s type of cut i was going for!
Halloween is the perfect occasion to showcase creative and personalized costumes, and incorporating vintage thrift finds can truly make your outfit stand out. Black dandyism, known for its sharp, elegant, and bold fashion choices, provides a rich source of inspiration for Halloween looks that are both sophisticated and edgy. This style, often characterized by tailored blazers and statement accessories, pairs well with nostalgic aesthetics from different decades. When curating a Halloween costume, sourcing pieces from thrift shops or online platforms like Depop can add authenticity and uniqueness to your outfit. Brands such as Donna Ricco, established in 1984, and Judith Hart, known for designs dating back to the 70s, offer timeless silhouettes that bring an undeniable vintage charm. Combining a waist blazer reminiscent of the 1940s with pants that echo the 80s cut creates a dynamic blend of eras that suits the eclectic themes often celebrated during Halloween. In addition to clothing, accessorizing with thoughtful jewelry like amethyst necklaces or citrine rings enhances the overall aesthetic while nodding to personal interests or influences such as the Hex Girls or the character Canary from Hunter x Hunter. These details not only deepen the story your costume tells but also make it more engaging and memorable. Cosplaying with a theme grounded in black dandyism and vintage fashion allows self-expression through clothes and accessories rich in history and style. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate Halloween while paying homage to classic fashion movements and beloved pop culture references. Whether you’re attending a party or sharing your look online, mixing thrift finds with thematic elements can inspire others to explore their own creative approaches to costume design.
