The reason why I can talk endlessly is probably because I have "inspirational drugs" in my brain
Hello, I'm Ciero!
I had an interesting realization today, so I would like to write about it.
It's like self-analysis, or rather, self-observation.
Recently, I suddenly realized something.
I'm not tired of talking to people.
Rather, there is a feeling that the more you talk, the more energetic you become.
Normally, speaking is supposed to use physical strength. I think it's a common feeling that talking for a long time makes you tired.
But in my case it's the opposite.
I've always wondered why this is.
Here is a hypothesis that I recently arrived at.
"During the conversation, there may be a weak reward in the brain all the time."
To put it a little more technically, it feels like it keeps moving with a small reward from dopamine.
Dopamine, very roughly speaking.
"Substances that come out of the brain when you feel good!"
When I ate delicious rice, when I was praised, when I leveled up in the game, this guy is out.
So what's going on in my head during the conversation?
As you listen to the other person's troubles and what they want to do, you can see that they are more and more connected.
"Oh, maybe this is the reason why this person is in trouble."
"Maybe this dream can go this way."
There is a feeling that the dots become lines like that.
I think this moment is probably a reward for me.
Actually, there is also proper brain science research on this.
"The moment the dots become lines, people feel pleasure."
Academically, it's called "Aha! -moment," and it's also a paper.
I have a little experiment, so let me introduce it.
For example, think of this associative quiz.
"House" "Bark" "Apple"
What do these three words have in common?
-
The answer is "tree."
The tree of the house, the bark of the tree, the apple tree.
At this moment of "Oh, I understand!," a part of the brain seems to move actively.
The name of that part is "nucleus accumbens."
It's a bit of a difficult name, but this is...
The Core of the Reward System
It is.
When you eat delicious food, when you receive money, when you are praised, the active part.
In other words, inspiration = neuroscientifically treated the same as a reward.
When I found out about this, I thought, "Oh, maybe this is the mechanism of my conversation."
While listening to the other person's story, I am solving puzzles in my head.
"Oh, it's connected!" is happening little by little.
Each time, there is a small reward in the brain.
So, rather than getting tired, I feel better.
By the way, if you are a fortune teller or a coach, this probably happens on a daily basis.
I think there is a sense that the past, present, and future are connected.
I think there is a lot of substance in the brain (laughs).
You can legally get high for free, which is a great story if you think about it.
One supplement here.
"Is the inspiration causing the reward, or is the reward just accompanying the result?"
It seems that this causal relationship has not yet been clearly established in research.
Does it feel good because it's inspired or is it easy to get inspired because it's in a pleasant state?
Personally, I think both are probably spinning around and looping around.
I feel that this is also applied to game design and so on.
A hint comes out little by little, and it connects with a click at the end.
The moment the mystery is solved, the animation of the reward flows.
That's probably a gimmick that uses this brain mechanism.
Humans may be quite simple (laughs).
So here's today's wrap up.
It was a story that "the moment when dots are connected" seems to be a really pleasant thing from a neuroscientific point of view.
If you've been feeling something boring or not exciting lately - -
Consciously "looking for connection"
You might want to try that.
Read books, talk to people, go to unknown places.
Just put yourself in an environment where it is easy to meet the connection, I feel that the brain will give you a reward on its own.
If you have a reward system, you want to use it.
Moreover, this is unusually good for cost performance. It doesn't cost money and there are no side effects.
With just a little awareness, the resolution of each day will gradually increase.
