Art project!!!

Creating this special 3D handmade mixed media art piece was such a joy, especially since it was for my wife! It truly feels like I've brought a piece of Puerto Rico right into our living room. My inspiration came directly from the breathtaking Gozalandia Waterfalls, which completely captivated me during our trip. I wanted to capture that vibrant energy and natural beauty in a tangible way. What makes this project extra special is the use of genuine seaglass collected from the pristine beaches of Puerto Rico. For me, using these natural, ocean-tossed treasures speaks to the heart of ocean sustainability. It's incredibly rewarding to transform something found and often overlooked into a beautiful work of art. Always collect mindfully, taking only what you need and leaving plenty for nature and others. For the artwork itself, I aimed to create a real sense of depth. The 3D effect comes from layering different pieces of seaglass and other mixed media elements. I started by sketching out the waterfall design, then carefully placed the light blue seaglass to form the cascading water. The surrounding landscapes were crafted using green and brown seaglass, giving it a rich, earthy texture. To add a touch of whimsy and life, I incorporated colorful flower accents, making the scene pop. The OCR mentioned a "glittery night sky," and that was achieved by adding fine glitter to the upper portion, giving it a magical, ethereal glow. The base of the waterfall also sparkles with blue glitter, mimicking the play of light on water. Working with seaglass for 3D handmade mixed media art opens up so many creative possibilities.
