IS THIS $6.80 LUNCH SPOT WORTH YOUR LUNCH TIME?

DABBA STREET

📍1 North Point Dr, B2-158, Singapore 768019

A menu that riffs off classics like biryani and butter chicken, paired with lighter, modern sides. We tested if it actually works in a 1-hour lunch window.

ANALYSIS:

🍽 TASTE - 4.5/5

🫓BUTTER CHICKEN PITA ($6.80) - 4/5

Soft, doughy pita packed with thick, creamy butter chicken which was rich, slightly heavy, but well-spiced. They were generous with fillings and sauces but the sauces i picked didn’t fully come together. (tikka masala + garlic aioli) The pita was not mixed thoroughly and onions were piled on towards the end which i didn't mind.

🌯INDIAN TANDOORI CHICKEN BIRYARITO ($6.80) - 3.5/5

Well-balanced wrap with evenly distributed fillings. Every bite was consistent. Generous toppings, especially onions, which added a nice crunch. The Tandoori chicken leaned mild, i prefer stronger tasting dishes. Tomato salsa helped lift it, while the tahini + beet yogurt combo added a nice twist.

💸 VALUE — 5/5

Generous portions with a wide variety of choices to add. Worth it for a quick lunch break, ensuring a filling and delicious meal/snack. Meal was served fresh too, grilled after you have ordered.

📄 PRACTICALITY — 5/5

Order was ready in under 10 minutes with a smooth, fuss-free process, fast enough for a work lunch, though I only visited during non-peak hours. Queues may build during peak hours.

👬 EXPERIENCE — 5/5

Fuss-free and efficient . Self-ordering kiosk is easy to use, food is prepared in front of you, and the setup feels clean and hygienic.

VERDICT: 4/5

Dabba Street is a good spot for a work lunch. Quick, fuss-free, and filling enough to keep you going through the afternoon. My flavours didn’t fully hit for me, but its up to you to pick your own fillings. Overall the wraps and pitas are tasty, easy to eat, and won’t slow you down at work.

... Read moreIf you're considering Dabba Street for a quick lunch, here are some insider tips from my experience that might help you enjoy your meal even more. The menu's customizable nature means you can tweak the fillings and sauces to fit your personal taste — I found that combining tikka masala with garlic aioli was tasty but not perfectly balanced, so trying different sauce combos might enhance your meal. The Butter Chicken Pita stands out for its creamy texture and rich flavor, but if you prefer a lighter bite, ask for less sauce or extra veggies to balance the heaviness. The Indian Tandoori Chicken Biryarito is milder than expected, so if you like spicier dishes, consider adding some of their chili toppings or salsa options. From ordering to receiving your food, the process is smooth and efficient with self-service kiosks and on-the-spot grilling, ensuring freshness and speed — ideal for tight lunch breaks. Just be mindful that peak hours might bring longer queues. Portion-wise, you'll find the serving generous and satisfying. I recommend pairing your pita or biryarito with some of their unique toppings like chaat baked potato or cumin-glazed carrot for an extra taste dimension. Also, if you’re a fan of sides, their oven-roasted vegetable pita offers a tasty vegetarian option. Overall, Dabba Street hits a great balance between convenience, flavor, and value. It’s a practical choice for anyone looking to enjoy Indian-Mediterranean fusion flavors without sacrificing time during a busy workday.
