Books or Apps for Mental Health 🫶🏽✨?

These are some things that I keep in my mental health toolkit.

🕊️Ancestors Said - This book gives words of encouragement and affirmations. The messages in this book are always right on time for me. I find it timeless and one that you can revisit yearly.

🫶🏽I Am - The app sends affirmations throughout the day. The messages pop on my phone screen and are so reassuring especially on a rough day.

📔Penzu - There are lots of journaling apps. This is just the one I’ve been using for years. I love physical journaling, but sometimes it’s easier to jot my thoughts in the app while they’re still fresh in my mind.

💭Mindfulness Coach - It helps you understand and practice mindfulness. We are here, but are we really present in the moment?

🧘🏽‍♀️Veterans Yoga Project - This one is service member-specific, and family members can benefit from it as well. Free online yoga classes. I do this with my kids and it’s so relaxing.

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, taking care of our mental health is more important than ever. With numerous resources available, it can be overwhelming to choose the right ones for your unique needs. Incorporating both books and apps into your mental wellness routine can significantly help improve your mindset and emotional resilience. 'Ancestors Said' offers daily affirmations that encourage positive thinking and self-reflection, making it a timeless addition to your mental health library. Meanwhile, the 'I Am' app delivers affirmations directly to your phone, ensuring a gentle reminder of your worth throughout the day. This blend of technology and traditional resources can create a supportive environment for self-care. For those who prefer writing, digital journaling apps like 'Penzu' provide an accessible way to document thoughts and feelings quickly. This can be particularly useful for processing emotions in real-time, rather than waiting to sit down with a pen and paper. On the other hand, mindfulness practices are crucial in cultivating presence in our lives. The 'Mindfulness Coach' app offers practical exercises to enhance mindfulness and awareness, promoting a deeper connection with the present. Finally, the 'Veterans Yoga Project' is an excellent resource for service members and their families, providing free online yoga classes to foster relaxation and well-being. Yoga is known for its ability to reduce stress and improve emotional health, making it a beneficial practice for anyone. By integrating these resources into daily life, individuals can enhance their mental health toolkit significantly. Whether you prefer the insightful words of a book, the interactivity of an app, or the physicality of yoga, these tools are designed to facilitate mental well-being and promote a happier, healthier mindset.
