I’m engaged!!!

Oh my goodness, I'm still pinching myself! Waking up every day knowing 'I'M ENGAGED!!!' is such an incredible feeling. That initial rush of excitement is truly magical. But after the happy tears and the ring selfies, a new (and slightly daunting) question popped into my head: 'Okay, what now?' If you're anything like me, you might be feeling that mix of pure joy and a tiny bit of overwhelm about where to begin. One of the very first things I thought about was sharing the news properly. How do you even announce an engagement to family and friends in a way that feels special and personal? My partner and I decided to tell our immediate families in person first, enjoying those intimate moments of shock and happiness. Then, we made calls to close friends and other relatives. For social media, we waited a little bit to let the news sink in with our loved ones offline. It felt right to share our joy face-to-face before it went public. Every family is different, but a personal touch usually goes a long way! Then there’s the whole 'engaged life' phase itself. It's not just about planning a wedding; it's about savoring this unique time in your relationship. We're trying to intentionally enjoy being fiances, going on dates, and just soaking up this new chapter. It's easy to get swept up in the endless checklists, but I've heard from so many friends that this period flies by. So, I'm trying to balance the excitement of planning with truly living in the moment. When it comes to wedding planning, I truly had no clue where to start. My head was spinning with 'wedding ideas' from Pinterest! My first step is going to be sitting down with my fiancé to discuss our vision for the day – big or small, traditional or modern. Next, I think setting a preliminary budget is super important. It’s not the most glamorous part, but it helps guide everything else. After that, we'll start compiling a rough guest list to get an idea of scale. I've also started passively looking at 'blissful bond bridal reviews' or reviews for local venues and photographers, just to get a feel for what's out there and what others recommend. It feels like a massive puzzle, but taking it one step at a time seems like the best approach. I'm also looking forward to all the little celebrations along the way – engagement photos, maybe a small party, and eventually, celebrating our 'happy 1st engagement anniversary'! It's all part of the journey to becoming husband and wife. I'm so grateful for all the love and support, and truly appreciate any advice you lovely people have for a newly engaged gal like me.
