College tips from a almost graduate ✨

I was a band kid from the moment that I stepped foot into a place that offered it. My dad played the snare in high school and recommended band to me.

I played the tenor sax and clarinet the most. 🎷

Band and other clubs show that you can COMMIT to something hard and follow through. 📝

Some sports and clubs start in the summer so you get a head start making friends with similar interests! I have horrible social anxiety and this helped alot. 🤍💛

You’ll have memories to carry with you after it’s over 🌴🌴

Joining clubs or teams, particularly those like band, offers a myriad of benefits. Firstly, participation in such groups adds value to your resume, showcasing your commitment and ability to collaborate with a diverse range of peers. Reason #1 emphasizes how extracurriculars make your application stand out to potential employers by demonstrating organization and leadership skills. Furthermore, these activities often pave the way to meaningful friendships based on shared interests. As noted in Reason #3, they allow you to connect with like-minded individuals, making your college experience more fulfilling. For those who may struggle with social anxiety, such as many students do, starting these interactions through extracurriculars becomes a beneficial way to ease into social circles, echoing the sentiment of confronting fears gradually and positively. Lastly, college is about creating memories that last a lifetime. The sense of belonging and unforgettable experiences gained through involvement in clubs will stay with you long after graduation. This aligns with Reason #5, emphasizing that the most beautiful memories often stem from such participation. Embrace the summer vibes and gear up for an enriching college life — your future self will thank you for the relationships and memories you build today.
