... Read moreWhen traveling to Yunnan, one of the biggest challenges is dealing with altitude sickness, especially in places like Shangri-La. Based on my personal experience, it’s crucial to acclimatize slowly. Don’t rush to high altitudes on the first day; spend time exploring lower elevation cities like Kunming and Dali first. Also, buying oxygen cans is cheaper in the city than at tourist spots—this little tip saved me quite a bit! Besides scenic views, Yunnan is a true foodie paradise. Each city offers unique local dishes that you shouldn’t miss. In Kunming, trying mushrooms is a must since the region is known for its rich fungi varieties. In Lijiang, sample the local Naxi cuisine and don't miss yak meat delicacies in Shangri-La. For snacks, pick up fresh street food like rice noodles and steamed buns from local markets—they’re delicious and budget-friendly. Transportation around Yunnan has improved remarkably with new high-speed trains linking major destinations. This means less time in transit and more time exploring. I highly recommend booking train tickets early online or through apps to avoid last-minute hassles. Also, plan your itinerary wisely—allocating 6 to 8 days is ideal to cover Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri-La comfortably without rushing. Lastly, pack smart! Yunnan’s strong sun demands high-SPF sunscreen, a good hat, and sunglasses. Comfortable shoes are essential since you'll walk on uneven, ancient cobblestone streets for hours. Don’t forget layers since the temperature can vary substantially between cities and between day and night. By following these tips and using the itinerary I’ve crafted, your Yunnan trip will be smooth, enriching, and memorable. Happy travels!

The pictures are so beautiful! I’m crying😭 . And I love how they didn't overdo the makeup! ie. Super white foundation. They used a tanned foundation shade and their eye makeup is very natural. Absolutely blown away with it . #lijiang #yunnan #photoshoot #tibet #photography Li
